BIFA 2020 entry deadlines EXTENDED
In response to the changing festival calendar and continued uncertainty over release dates, we’ve taken the decision to extend our entry deadline this year until 25 September (from 28 August). The announcement of longlists, nominations and winners will also shift, with new dates to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
We want to make sure that BIFA supports and celebrates the industry as much as possible during this very unusual year and think that this extended entry deadline will help to ease pressure at what is (even in a normal year) a very busy time.
– Amy Gustin & Deena Wallace, Directors of BIFA
We are continuing to monitor the Covid-19 situation, closely following the advice of the NHS and GOV UK/Public Health England, and want to ensure any activity in 2020/21 is planned with the wellbeing of our staff, voters and guests in mind.
Changes to our rules and eligibility remain applicable. If a film was programmed to play at a festival or to screen on general release but did not do so due to the impact of the pandemic, it will remain eligible for BIFA regardless of how its release strategy changed to accommodate the circumstances. You can read more about this here.
