Sophie Scott

Sophie Scott is a communications consultant and unit publicist. She has managed the publicity for theatrical and home entertainment releases, campaigned for awards and overseen red-carpet media management for premieres and events – including on behalf of BIFA. 

Sophie is also a Corporate Communications expert having been Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for Warner Bros. 

Projects Sophie worked on span the studio and independent business such as Interstellar, The Hobbit, Edge of Tomorrow, Lost in London, Human Flow, Juliet Naked, “The Rook”, Comic Relief’s “Red Nose Day Actually” and Empire Magazine’s “Empire Live” event.

Sophie was previously UK & International Publicity Manager for Icon Films until 2011, where she worked on the release campaigns for films including Drive, Looking For Eric, Precious and Man on Wire. She started her career in film as the Events and Communications Manager for the New Producers Alliance from 2004 to 2007, which is when she first had the pleasure to collaborate with BIFA and Raindance. 

Sophie read Film and American Studies at the University of East Anglia with a year study at Occidental College in Los Angeles. She is proud of her working class Jewish and Scottish roots and Hackney heritage. She received a state funded education and is passionate about opening the doors to the film industry to others from similar backgrounds.
