Sarah Brocklehurst

Sarah Brocklehurst started her career in the theatre industry, before producing the feature BLACK POND (directed by Will Sharpe and Tom Kingsley) which was nominated for the BAFTA for Outstanding Début by a British Writer/Director/Producer and also received nominations at the BIFAs and the Guardian First Film Award. The film won the London Comedy Film Festival Discovery Award and the Evening Standard award for Best Newcomers.

Her second feature film Animals, directed by Sophie Hyde and written by Emma Jane Unsworth adapting her own novel, stars Holliday Grainger and Alia Shawkat. The film premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was released across the UK and Ireland by Picturehouse Entertainment. Animals received 2 BIFA nominations: Holliday Grainger for Best Actress, and Emma Jane Unsworth for Début Screenwriter; Emma Jane Unsworth won the award.

Sarah has been named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and a Screen Star of Tomorrow and her company Sarah Brocklehurst Productions was listed as one of the UK’s top emerging production companies in Screen Daily’s Brit 50 list.

In 2020, SBP was awarded a BFI Vision Award to support the company’s ambitious development slate. SBP works across film and television, championing diverse talent and producing bold and distinctive work that will inspire and entertain audiences.
