Rachel Flynn

During lockdown, Scottish actor-turned-writer Rachel blagged her way onto the MLitt Playwrighting & Screenwriting course at St Andrews University. She then worked as a Storyliner across 52 episodes of BBC’s River City and has now completed her second commissioned episode as a writer. Her first feature, A European Christmas, was distributed by ReelOne Entertainment. Her short film, 16, won ‘Best Debut’ at Sunderland Short Film Festival 2024. In theatre, her debut Being Liza earned 5-star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe. Her hit ‘A Play, A Pie & A Pint’, Keepin’ The Heid, was hailed by The Scotsman as “completely original… silly, funny, rude and unexpectedly moving”. Rachel makes dynamic genre stories that explore messy human themes through a contemporary female lens. Originating it on the NFTS Finding Your Voice course, she is currently developing horror feature, ‘Banshee’.
