Jenny Lu

Jenny Lu is a Taiwanese-British filmmaker whose work explores identity, displacement, and social justice through a nuanced, cross-cultural lens. She holds a PhD from the University of the Arts London, Chelsea College of Arts, and her academic and artistic practices intersect in storytelling that is both poetic and politically engaged. Her debut feature, The Receptionist, which follows the lives of undocumented East Asian women in London’s underground massage parlors, premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and won several international awards. Jenny’s work has been praised for its emotional intelligence and commitment to marginalized voices. She has served on juries for film festivals such as Japan Ehime International Film Festival and Taipei Film Festival, and is currently developing her second feature, continuing to build an international body of work that bridges East and West.
