Charles Steel

Charles is a BAFTA winning film producer and managing director of Cowboy Films. Produced films include Kevin MacDonald’s The Last King of Scotland, which won an Oscar for Best Actor and a BAFTA for Best British Film, Goodbye Charlie Bright, Amy Foster and the cinema documentary Fire In Babylon. TV productions include Poppy Shakespeare, which won the BAFTA for Best Actress and most recently Top Boy, a four-part thriller written by Ronan Bennett, that has just transmitted on Channel 4. Cowboy also produces short films including the Oscar winning Wasp (Andrea Arnold) and the BAFTA winning I-Do-Air (Martina Amati). Currently in post production is Marley – a cinema documentary on Bob Marley, directed by Kevin McDonald, to be released in 2012.
