Last but not least in our series of newcomer long list announcements, we present the BIFA Douglas Hickox Award (Best Debut Director) long list!
This award is given to a first-time feature film director for an exceptional achievement, but also for promise and potential. Previous documentary and television credits do not exclude an individual from consideration.
17 debut directors are featured on the long list this year for their work on 16 outstanding debut feature films. The five nominees in this category will be announced on Tuesday 1 November. The winner will be announced at the BIFA ceremony on Sunday 4 December.
