Amy Hubbard

Amy Hubbard is an award-winning casting director with extensive experience on both blockbuster features and major television series.  This year Hubbard has worked on the Haifaa Al-Mansour movie Storm in the Stars, Clio Barnard’s third film Dark River, as well as The Siege of Jadotville feature for Netflix, having recently contributed to the feature length documentary Notes on Blindness.  In television, she has been working on The Moorside Project and Little Boy Blue for Jeff Pope / ITV Factual Drama as well as Jimmy McGovern’s new BBC series Broken starring Sean Bean; previous tv credits include The Bastard Executioner, Saints & Strangers, Homeland, Sons of Liberty, 24: Live Another Day and Tyrant. In 2012, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy® for Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special for Hatfields & McCoys. On the feature side, she worked with director Peter Jackson on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. She was nominated for Best Casting by the Online Film & Television Association for each of three The Lord of the Rings features and won the award in 2002 for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. She has cast numerous other feature films, including Albert Nobbs starring Glenn Close. Hubbard was awarded the British Independent Film Awards honour in 2013 for Best Technical Achievement for The Selfish Giant.
