Raindance is unique. Founded in 1992, it has become Britain's leading independent film organisation, hosting training courses on all aspects of film production, and organising the Raindance Film Festival each October. A long-time supporter of the British Independent Film Awards, Swarovski collaborated with acclaimed British designers Fredrikson Stallard to create the stunning trophy as part of its mission to nurture creative talents both on and off screen.
Swarovski made its sparkling debut on the silver screen in the earliest days of Hollywood 85 years ago, when cinematic designers drew upon the brilliance of crystal to adorn their sets and add glamour to their stars. Sparkle became the magic ingredient used to imbue its wearer with a powerfully attractive talisman – light. Soon Swarovski began working hand-in-hand with costume, jewellery and production designers, and the results were spellbinding – its crystals has played a supporting role in some of Hollywood’s most memorable moments, from Audrey Hepburn’s tiara in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Marilyn Monroe’s dazzling jewels in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes to numerous Bond films and Disney’s 2015 live-action fairy-tale Cinderella, for which they collaborated with Sandy Powell to create the shimmering solid crystal slipper.
